A property experience that begins with capture.
OpenHouse brings guided property capture, 3D reconstruction and browser walkthroughs into one product scope. The project spans the creation of a spatial experience and the interface used to explore it.

Project
OpenHouseFrom recording a space to presenting it
A property walkthrough depends on several different kinds of product work. Capture produces the source material, reconstruction turns that material into a model, and the browser experience gives a visitor a way to move through the resulting space.
OpenHouse’s scope connects capture guidance, reconstruction and a browser viewer. Apple Object Capture provides the reconstruction engine for the 3D model.
The capture-to-browser workflow
Three connected parts of the property experience.
Guided capture
Collect property imagery as the starting material for reconstruction.
3D reconstruction
Use Apple Object Capture to produce a model from capture material.
Browser walkthrough
Present the reconstructed space through a web-based 3D viewer.

Capture shapes everything that follows
Guided property capture is the first part of the product experience. Its role is to gather the material needed for reconstruction. Designing this stage means considering the person recording a property alongside the processing work that follows.
Reconstruction as a product stage
The engine uses Apple Object Capture on Apple-silicon Macs. This is the processing stage between the source capture and the browser experience. Computer vision and 3D work sit within the wider product, alongside capture guidance and the web interface.
An interface for exploring space
The browser viewer gives the reconstructed model a visitor-facing form. A walkthrough asks the interface to support spatial exploration, extending the work beyond displaying a photograph or embedding a video.
Project scope
The work covers guided property capture, 3D reconstruction, computer vision and the browser experience. Capture guidance and the web interface frame the technical work around the people recording and exploring a space.
